Organic Tea Cocktails |
One of the reasons we love vodka so much is its versatility. When we want a certain flavor essence to dominate in our cocktails, we'll make a vodka infusion instead of an agave or honey infusion. The alcohol absorbs the flavor more readily than the other types of infusions and allows the flavor essence to kick through the other ingredients in the cocktail.
We have long been fans of the rich and complex flavors we get when we infuse our vodka with high quality teas. Particularly with the amazing flavors found in Numi Organic teas. We have gathered some of our favorite recipes for you here. |

Flower Child
Free-spirited, this elixir is decidedly not a wallflower.

1/2 oz. organic agave nectar
1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
¼ oz. Cointreau
Dash of Peychaud's bitters
|
Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake for 30 seconds. Strain into martini glass. Garnish with a rose petal (if available) or a lemon twist.
Infusion: Pour vodka into a pitcher or other glass receptacle. Use 6 teabags per 750 ml. Infuse for 4-6 hours, remove bags and pour infusion back into vodka bottle.

Moroccan Bazaar
Moroccan Mint Teasan lends a spicy mint sensation
2 oz. Square One Organic Vodka
infused with Numi Organic Moroccan Mint Teasan
2 oz. Trader Joe’s Organic Limeade
Juice of 1 lime
½ oz. organic Agave nectar
3 mint leaves, minced
Club soda
|
Put all ingredients except Club Soda in a shaker with crushed ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Fill to top with Club soda, stir and garnish with a mint sprig.
For the home bar chef we gave you the easy option of using limeade instead of squeezing lots of limes, but if you like to go fresh all the way like we do, substitute the limeade for equal amounts of fresh lime, but be sure to add more agave nectar to balance the sweetness.

Goodnight Ginger
Chamomile, lemon and ginger . . . what a combo!
2 oz. Square One Organic Vodka infused with
Numi Organic Chamomile Lemon Myrtle Teasan
2 oz. fresh lemon juice (may sub Trader Joe's Organic Ginger Lemonade, use less agave nectar)
1/8 tsp. fresh grated ginger
1 oz. organic Agave nectar
Splash of Vya Extra-Dry Vermouth
|
Put all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
If you prefer a completely fresh ingredient approach, substitute the ginger lemonade for fresh squeezed lemon juice and a touch more ginger. And don't forget to use a bit more agave nectar to counter the acidity of the fresh juice.
* We LOVE this cocktail with Numi Tea, but you may substitute another chamomile/citrus tea blend for a delicious but completely different taste.
